neeed some advice and knowlede,, HELP!

Posted in Group:

Hi everyone, I am brand new here and I am hoping someone can help me out. Last year in Dec. I had a (CABG) ,Its like a bypass but the bypass is with a vein thats close to the heart. I have heard it called a double bypass too.Anyway, I was diagnosed with Takayasu's Arteritis, right before the surgery. I guess I have inflammation in my arteries. I am pretty sure thats a very basic description.
Trying to make this short here. I know how bad I felt before that surgery, the sweatyness and pain in my back..Anyway, I had a slow recovery and even had some complications. I have been battling what I thought was gout, swollen painful ankles.. Here's the thing, after two months this flare up isn't really going away. Could it be my heart, Ive had some chest pains, but I thought it was from general stress.
I am really terrified here.. I wish I knew what was going on. Why isn't this gout going away?
Thanks guys for letting me vent.

Penny

After serious surgery, different parts of our body get affected and everything is very sensitive, therefore give yourself more time and take care of yourself, it is a long process. Also, it would be good to talk to your doctor and explain the symptoms, he should help you and guide you. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.

Hi Penny:

I certainly can sympathize with you. I've been there myself.

I've had the double by-pass and more..... The recovery is long, and sometimes discouraging. I've found that talking with my doctor helps quite a bit. He seems to understand exactly what is happening. As a matter of fact, it was at his suggestion that I am here. Talking and sharing with others who have been down the path is what we all need.

My best wishes to you, and to all of us.

Hi guys, its Penny again, checking in and giving you an update. That was seven months ago that I posted, and things really haven't improved. I keep getting swollen ankles and painful joints in my knees and ankles. Im pretty sure its inflammation since the predinsone seems to help it. I am seeing a specialist and he told me it wasn't gout that is affecting me.
I feel so ignorant because I dont know any more then the day I had surgery. I dont know how to get this pain under control either, and its getting me pretty depressed. Not to mention when these flare ups happen, I can barely walk. Im just so tired of being sick and tired. :o(
